The Poetry & Arts Barn provides a gathering place for artists, poets, and crafters. We host poetry readings and workshops, provide a space for writers to get away and get a little writing done, host arts and craft classes, and also sell locally handmade items.

Our retail hours are Sundays and Wednesdays from 8 am to 2 pm. Writers can also stop in and take advantage of our writing nooks and typewriters from 9 am to 2 pm every Wednesday and Sunday. The rural setting is the perfect place to unplug for a few hours, take out the pen and paper, or use our typewriters and write for a while.

The Poetry & Arts Barn is also home to Poetry Breakfast, an online journal serving up a new poem each morning. Ann Kestner, the editor of Poetry Breakfast is also the Poet in Residence at The Poetry & Arts Barn.
Presented by R&D Wood Creations LLC, The Poetry & Arts Barn unites a variety of arts, poetry, and crafts together under one roof. Located in the Historic New Egypt Flea Market Village, the “Barn” is actually a WWII sergeant’s bunker from Fort Dix. Don’t let the words flea market fool you. We are nestled in a diverse village surrounded by buildings with amazing histories, from Bordentown’s original one room school house to old resort cottages from days gone by and retired WWII barracks from Fort Dix – all on little dirt roads in a small walking community.

As artists, it’s a place of inspiration and an escape from the fast paced, high speed, digital world.
