This two-act solo play runs just over one hour. Afterward we’ll take a short break followed by a Q&A with the playwright.

About the Play:
Poet/playwright Kay Kestner combines vivid images of growing up in the Pine Lands of New Jersey during the 1980s with portraits of the inequality generations of women in her family lived through, and the experience of leaving behind a Catholic upbringing while still keeping faith in God.

She weaves her memories into a fictional yet thought-provoking story of what it is to carry guilt, come to a place of forgiveness, and how our everyday interactions affect one another for better or for worse.

Poet/actor Ali Longo’s intimate portrayal of Isabel brings the audience along for the journey back to the “old neighborhood.” Delivering an emotional performance that elicits a few tears and the occasional lighthearted laugh.

– From the Playwright’s Home in the Pine Lands to Your Home:
Originally booked at a local stage, we had to cancel our in-person performance at an arts center due to staffing issues and security concerns around the venue. But the show must go on…And so it does…from the playwright’s home in the Pine Lands to your home through Zoom.

– Fundraising and Awareness:
We encourage you to visit the following organization and consider making a donation…particularly to their efforts to ensure rape test kits are tested in a timely fashion and victims are not left waiting years for justice.
We invite you to learn more and show your support to:
The Joyful Heart Foundation – https://www.joyfulheartfoundation.org/
and their program to end the rape kit backlog – https://www.endthebacklog.org/

– Partial Lunar Eclipse:
We’ve tried our best to time this so those of you in Europe will have a break to see the partial lunar eclipse after the play and before we move on to a Q&A with the playwright.
