Different
by J.P. Plunkett

You tried so hard but it just wasn’t enough
Your green leaves, plastic under
The artificial sunlight.
Your soil, just rocks.
You wish just to be stronger.
You feel abandoned because I
Never took care of you.
I didn’t think I needed to.
You wave in the wind, provided by the ceiling fan,
To all your friends outside.
They don’t wave back though cause you are different.
My fake plant died,
Because I did not pretend to water it.
