by Anthony Ward
Go out off your mind and escape
The incarceration of your soul.
Go out into the world and inhabit its beauty
So that you may find sanctuary
From that repulsive humanity.
Go out of your mind
To a place where we can see you.
Show us what it’s like inside.
Share with us how you came to be locked up.
What misdeeds had you committed.
What made you so mad.
Paint us a picture so vivid
That we may never forget.
Anthony Ward tends to fidget with his thoughts in the hope of laying them to rest. He has managed to lay them in a number of literary magazines including South, Word Gumbo, Drunk Monkeys, Crack the Spine, Shadow Fiction, Message in a Bottle, Snakeskin, and Blinking Cursor amongst others.
