The Best
(1)
a white haired
woman in blue
sweats slowly
jogs determinedly
up the sidewalk
as morning
cars pass by
(2)
plastic bag rolls
end over end
across the noon
median until
run down
momentarily
set back
then onward again
(3)
a sky full
of afternoon
clouds drift
above the
mountains
like whipped cream
on hot chocolate
(4)
but the best thing
is to stick my body
through an open
passenger side
window
just to kiss
my lady goodbye
for a few seconds
