Emily As The Confusion Is Not An Omission

Emily didn’t know
& I didn’t feel
like telling her
that the strongest fruit,
the deep red of it
has no actual roots
once you pick it.
We are fruit-pickers.
we have to choose
to remain together
when the weather
changes the scene.
