Linger
A poem by Linea Jantz
Linger
under snow-slathered willows
watch mallards
explode from the river
a thrum to the air
electric
allow
the curve
of your lips
wind taps
a willow’s shoulder
they shimmer
together
in the light
shall we dance?
the sun bursts above the horizon
clouds blushing
peach
the geese wait
flat-footed
on the retreating ice
molten gold
ripples
across water
become sky
