Aurora Rising
A poem by Joe Bisicchia

Aurora Rising

And, see, sun draws near,
props on each ledge, and
gives keen hint.

It may be an overcast mist
but here nonetheless,
as a city now stirs,

high-rise by high-rise,
corps de ballet in a line,
one by one by all.

Not a phenomenon,
and yet is. So goes
regular life here, everywhere.

And for those of us not adept
to dance,
we might surprise ourselves

with new dexterity,
sure as bending tulips,
as we leap into our shared day.
