Patch of Blue
A poem by Barbara Cassidy
Patch of Blue
Wispy marine layer,
one continuous
back drop
from
sky to sand-
leaking
sun shards.
A square door,
opens out of
this
bright
haze,
projects a triangle-
Magritte blue.
A plump
hand and wrist only,
slides forward,
from out of the blue-
gleaming,
backlit,
buoyant.
Palm extends upward, pauses.
I have no offering.

Oops! Forgot to say that “from / sky to sand- / leaking / sun shards is terrific. Wonderfully puzzling.

A lovely sounding poem. No wasted words. One-word lines here work very well. Yeah, I like this one.
