The Force Beneath
A poem by Alisha Hana
The Force Beneath
Deep within the aquamarine sea
A force beneath rumbles like thunder
Serenely drifting upon the clear, shimmering water
Gazing out into the infinite canvas of eternity
A tickle of fear dances beneath the tide
Treading against the tips of my toes
The underside vibration of existence
Building like a gathering storm, this fight below
Amidst the depths of the current, I’ve fallen astray
Shuddering, I gasp, I struggle to find voice
An undertow viscously seeking
To pull me within its dream
To my dismay, I have resurfaced
My vigor renewed, my sight expanded
Freed from its forceful descent, I rise
Locking eyes with the pristine, buttermilk sky
